The exhibition Over all possibilities 2 presents Johana Merta, a Brno-based artist of the middle generation, who explores the ongoing process of balance through spatial installations, readymade objects, and radical materiality. However, it is not only about formal composition, but above all about a profound societal and existential need for equilibrium.
With her characteristic sensitivity, the artist responds to the current state of uncertainty, global imbalance, and the re-evaluation of life priorities. The theme of “balance” permeates the exhibition on all levels – from the physical equilibrium of objects to the symbolic weighing of work and rest, production and sustenance, individuality and collectivity.
At a time when Europe and the world are divided by war, migration, cultural misunderstanding, and fear of the unknown, Over all possibilities 2 positions itself as an active space for sharing and interpersonal connection. The exhibition space is conceived as a safe place for encounters – both for local residents and for those who have been forced to leave their homes.
Although this space, too, has its limits, it can become a seedbed for new relationships – both human and social. The artist’s current focus on tools of communication and relational bonds transforms the gallery into a laboratory of human contact. The exhibition thus becomes not only a visual experience, but also a social act – a call for empathy, sharing, listening, and mutual learning.
