TIMO

The exhibition will present a multimedia installation in a dialogue of genres that the Brno artist TIMO uses to express himself. The artist will draw on an associatively constructed story, inspired by his ancient dream, in which reality and objects freely transformed from one form to another. On a general level, he will work with the contrast arising from, on the one hand, an unrestricted, unbridled imagination and a lively stream of ideas, and on the other hand, with the demand for socialization of the individual and his submission to social norms. It thus pits the generally acceptable idea of man against his often unmanageable inner life. For TIMO, the old dream is an impulse for associative play with drawing. He also captures ideas in smaller paintings and spatial objects. The installation will also be complemented by visual poetry in the public space in the immediate vicinity of the gallery.

TIMO has established himself in the cultural community as a street art artist. His texts are encountered in various forgotten, often unsightly places. His artistic slogans in public space respond to situations, events, politics or consumerism. His texts are also created situationally, as a commentary on the character of the place they enter. It is ironic, responding to our unconscious actions, working with humour and paradox, touching on common themes. Behind TIMO's short street slogans, there is a poetic work with text and its desire for a composed, multi-layered, complex work of art.
