Lištica: Lucie Lienerová (CZ)

Lištica (Lucie Lienerová) is a graduate of the Painting Department 3 at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno. Her work focuses on figurative painting, which she creates primarily using media traditionally associated with drawing, such as crayons, pastels, and wax crayons.
She paints on plywood and works with both typical rectangular formats and irregular, custom-made painting surfaces.

She conceives her current exhibitions as places where the gallery space is not just a backdrop for the exhibited paintings, but as synergical spaces for the interaction of paintings and the specific space of the gallery, which the spectator enters and which affects them as a whole. Her paintings are characterized by the intertwining of several layers, from references to art history to experiences from competitive swimming and horse care to personal reflections. Her work is characterized by flat strokes and monumentality, which create an interesting tension with a dreamlike atmosphere and a sense of frozen time.
