Jason & Debora Bernagozzi: Perfusion / audio-visual performance

We warmly invite you to a performance by the artistic duo Jason and Debora Bernagozzi, who will visit Vašulka Kitchen Brno in May. Their performance will take place on Tuesday, May 26 at the House of Arts on Malinovského Square.

PERFUSION is a live, realtime audio/video performance that navigates the experience of space as flow, permeating the senses. The source footage was recorded in various locations across South Korea. The live image and audio processing reflect a composite of sensorial forms. The camera moves through and dances with architecture, the audio breathes and pulls together fragments of tone and rhythm. Is experience linear, or a pouring through a circulatory system of memories colliding and resonating?

DEBORA BERNAGOZZI
Debora Bernagozzi works primarily with the mediums of video, photography, and fiber. She creates her work through a hybrid analog/digital method utilizing real-time video and audio processing techniques. She has exhibited widely nationally and internationally and her video performance work was referenced in the National Endowment for the Art publication Tech as Art: Supporting Artists Who Use Technology as a Creative Medium. She serves as Executive Director at Signal Culture, providing training and technical expertise for the residents, curating work of alumni, and facilitating community building while continuing to make and exhibit her own artwork.

JASON BERNAGOZZI
Jason Bernagozzi is a video, sound and new media artist living and working in Binghamton, NY and is a co-founder of Signal Culture. Their artworks have been featured nationally and internationally at venues such as the European Media Art Festival; the Festival Les Instants Vidéo Numériques et Poétiques; the Ilman Museum of Art and the Currents New Media Festival. Jason designed the analog/digital conversion workflow in the Signal Culture studio, creates modular software applications, and facilitates the larger research program for the organization in his role as a board member for the organization and is an Assistant Professor of
Cinema at Binghamton University.
