Flaviu Rogojan (b.1990) is a multi-disciplinary artist, curator, and cultural manager based in Cluj, Romania. In his video works, installations, and objects he digs into the complex and intertwined nature of our online and offline lives, drawing on influences from history of science, technology, video games, and Internet culture. He works with sometimes obscure information, geeky factoids, and situated histories, blending storytelling with conceptual art techniques, to craft fictions and commentaries on current political issues.
He is part of multiple curatorial collectives, and organizes projects that revolve around artistic research and geopolitical site-specificity, in formats such as residencies, research & production, and interdisciplinary exhibition events.
His current curatorial research is a project exploring the politics around Eastern-European internet infrastructures, through media histories and networked practices. Among others, he is also co-curating a research project on exploring decolonial perspectives at the intersection of foodscapes and trade routes in the Danube Delta; and an international artist residency that looks at the impact of accelerated tourism development on the cultural and natural environment of the Albanian seaside.
