Distorted Session #12: Videoparty

Come join us in farewell party for the Distorted Image and (Photography) exhibitions at the House of Arts! We’ll be screening jingles and commercials, holding a discussion with the curator, featuring musical and reenactment performances. Sunday, August 16, starting at 4:00 pm at the House of Arts. 

PROGRAM

5:00 pm
Ask the curator anything you like (a discussion with exhibition curator Lenka Dolanová, moderated by Jana Horáková from the Institute of Musicology at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University in Brno)
Performance by Richard Fajnor – …vazby. A re-performance of an event from 1996, originally presented at the Hi-Tech / Art festival at the House of Arts, featuring audience participation and historical technology.

5.30 pm
Exhibition talk about (Photography) with author Rostislav Čuřík and curator Terezie Petišková.

6:15 pm
Pavel Ryška—a guided selection of jingles, commercials, and footage of the editing facilities at Kavčí Hory, focusing on the implementation of video and computer graphics into television post-production in the 1990s.

7:15 pm
Marta Kovářová, a graduate of the Video-Multimedia-Performance program at FaVU VUT, will perform a solo piece featuring double bass and vocals. She will present both her early and current musical works in raw arrangements. A bold event full of effort, humor, and a unique beat.

8:00 pm
Nina Böttcherová - stanicamiru A poetic-musical performance that blends poetry, music, and live visuals. It explores the space
where words and sounds merge into a single whole, creating an intimate journey between text, noise, and string sounds that react in real time. Stanicamiru is part of FavuLabel and Lotuscollective.

During the closing event, you can view a selection of moving images by students from the FaVU Video Studio at Brno University of Technology (curated by Martin Mazanec).
