Martin Hrvol’s exhibition in the G99 Gallery is a part of the EXIT 2019 Award that he received. The Award is announced by the Faculty of Art and Design of J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem and dedicated to students of Czech and Slovak academies of art. Martin Hrvol’s winning project in 2019 was called Father's Role and combined several aspects typical of his work in general: his work with materials (stone, wood, concrete, products of nature), research focused on oral history (interviews, statements), and an interest in topical issues of contemporary society which, having lost its original direction, breaks down into diverse groups seeking their place, a footing, or meaning. Martin Hrvol’s audiovisual installation combines the fragility of a personal statement and awareness of the weight of worked stone. In the Brno gallery, the artist will present a completely new installation, which is to some extent a continuation of the winning project from 2019.

The exhibition is co-organised by the Faculty of Art and Design of the J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem.
