The exhibition of the German intermedia artist Christina Kubisch charts the forty years of electromagnetic research by this world-renowned protagonist of sound art. It will cover the whole breadth of the media that she works in – music scores and drawings, installations and sound recordings. For the Jaroslav Král Gallery the artist will create a special installation in situ. The exhibition will be organised in collaboration with the Vašulka Kitchen Brno art centre. Christina Kubisch (1948) studied painting, music and media in Hamburg, Graz, Zurich and Milan. In the 1970s she dedicated herself to performances, concerts and video works, later to sound installations, sound sculptures and works using ultraviolet light. Her compositions are mostly electro-acoustic, but she also composes for music ensembles. Since 2003 she has been again active as a performer and collaborates with various musicians and dancers. Christina Kubisch has presented her work at a number of exhibitions, concerts and festivals around the world. She has received numerous grants and prestigious awards.
