A joint exhibition of two important figures – from Prague and Brno – whose painting oeuvre came into being on the fringe of the evolutionary mainstream of Czech art in the second half of the 20th century. Although their work was formed completely independent of one another, we can trace in the paintings of both authors similar premises and characteristics. The relationship of space and light is an important theme in the artists' work, both of which work with color, line and form in a highly personal way. Tranquility and harmony mingle with an unusual tension in their paintings and drawing. The exhibition traces the relationship between the work of both authors from the mid 1960s, rather than seeking out mere exterior equivalency and similarities, it attempts foremost to indicate the conceptual links between their work and how their artistic natures are related.
