Reality is more than Fiction
Assemblage as a creative principle in Czech Art of the 1960s and 1970s

The House of
the Lords of Kunstat
09 09 - 14 11

This exhibition project deals with assemblage as a creative principle – it stems from the notion, that the grouping and fusing of tangible three-dimensional elements into relief and object-like forms is primarily the grouping of ideas – a process of personal examination and acquaintance, made possible through non-traditional approaches. It focuses therefore on conception and personal agendas, defining the exhibition's structuralization, which represents more than twenty artists. The structure of the exhibition project has three conceptual levels – Imaginative Perceptions, Rough and Direct Reality, and Constructional Poetics and Order. It's aim is to deepen the knowledge of Czech art and by tracing the given subject matter define its additional specificities and determine its position in a European context.
