Vojtěch Luksch (*1992) works with the aesthetics of early computer games. He incorporates fragments of video games from the 1980s and 1990s into found embroidered images. In his work, the 8-bit aesthetic converges with kitschy landscapes inherited from grandparents. He engages with nostalgia for childhood, a time when computer games were played during visits to relatives. Vojtěch Luksch is a graduate of the Atelier of Painting 1 at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Brno University of Technology under the guidance of Vasil Artamonov.

The exhibition builds upon an artistic residency as part of the Brno Artists in Residence program, which Vojtěch Luksch completed in the fall of 2023.
