This selection of works by Brno-based photographer Rudolf Štursa has been conceived as a reminder of his extensive life's work - specifically related to the period dating from the late 1950s through the 1980s. The photographs, which were taken for the most part during the author's trips throughout Europe and other continents (mostly within the context of his work as a photographer for the Brno Exhibition Grounds), represent humanistic oriented, subjective documentation, clearly capable of capturing characteristic images and the location's specific atmosphere at a particular moment in time.
Rudolf Štursa is a perceptive observer with a sense for capturing the essence of a moment with ironic objectivism not however, without empathy. His photographs focus on a wide spectrum of themes concerning human relationships, situational moments, portraits; authentic witnesses of their times.
