Jiří Thýn (1977) graduated from the photography studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague (2006). He served the annual internships at the Academy of Fine Arts in the studio of Vladimir Skrepl and Jiří Kovanda (2002) and at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki (2003), given the focus of their studios on photography. The author through this medium often integrates thoughtfully conceived composite installations with objects and projections. His work has been exhibited in many group shows, and he has had solo exhibitions since 2002, of which the last major presentations include the “Less” exhibition, organized by Hunt Kastner Artworks and Prague Biennale 4 in Karlin in 2009.
